Cobinlight Morningside is a lighting consultancy where ideas, expertise and design come together. The studio provides a collaborative environment for architects, interior designers and clients to develop and refine the lighting direction for their projects.

From reviewing plans and understanding spatial requirements to selecting the right fittings, finishes and lighting solutions, the studio is designed around conversation and consultation. Supported by an extensive network of leading local and international brands, the focus is always on finding the right solution for the project — both creatively and technically.

We approach lighting as an integral part of the design.

With 25 years of experience in the lighting industry, Jason Mets has built his career around a deep understanding of light, architecture and the way people experience spaces.


Jason works closely with architects, interior designers and clients to develop considered lighting solutions for residential, hospitality and commercial projects. His approach begins with listening — understanding the architecture, the materials and the intent behind a space before specifying a single fitting.


Jason has seen lighting technology and design evolve considerably, but his philosophy has remained simple: good lighting should enhance architecture, not compete with it. Through careful specification, restraint and attention to detail, he believes light has the ability to completely transform how a space looks, feels and is experienced.


Today, Jason brings that experience and personal approach to every Cobinlight Morningside project, combining technical knowledge with a genuine appreciation for good design.
